Naomi Kerbel

07889 847 362

Naomi has spent the last five years working in Investor Relations at Goldman Sachs International, liaising with FTSE 100 clients such as Diageo, Cadbury, Adidas and GEOX. Goldman was quick to recognise her strong client relationship-building skills and her ability to work in the challenging environment of a world class investment bank. Having been offered the position on a short-term basis whilst resting as an actress, promotions quickly followed and Naomi raced up the corporate ladder.

Naomi has now returned to her portfolio career. She keeps her hand in the corporate relations market whilst pursuing opportunities in journalism and combines both her corporate and creative experience as an Associate at How To. Naomi’s unique career relies on exceptional communication skills. In particular, her networking skills are demonstrated by her uncanny ability to connect with most people in well under six degrees.

Naomi graduated from Magdalene College, Cambridge in 2001. Having written and performed for the Footlights, she continued her career as a comedy actress working in television, theatre and radio. Naomi’s best kept secret is that she starred as Cosette in Les Miserables at the tender age of six.

Charlotte Frische

Charlotte’s diverse career history has established her as a well-respected international trainer and coach. In the second half of her trajectory, whilst rising through the ranks of Goldman Sachs International’s Equities business, she became increasingly distracted by the infinite complexities of corporate life. After seven years, she developed her interest in people and qualified as a Master Practitioner in NLP. She spent the last few years at an international consultancy, working across a broad range of sectors with everyone from investment bankers and charity professionals to judo Olympians.

The first half of Charlotte’s story sheds light on her other talents. After studying Geography at UCL, musical theatre at Guildford School of Acting and classical acting at Flinders University Adelaide, she embarked upon life as an actor. Whilst picking up a variety of roles in theatre and television, she was offered a position at Goldman Sachs International, and the rest is (career) history.

At 'How To', Charlotte now has the opportunity to combine her business and arts experience.

Jonathan Hill

07889 847 362

For the first decade of Jonathan’s working life, he remained firmly in the world of management within international business. Specifically, Jonathan's commercial experience involved developing the world renowned brands of Coca-Cola and Red Bull. Eventually, Jonathan was lured away from product development by a far greater desire to develop people and their businesses.

Jonathan has many strings to his coaching bow. He is an ACC qualified coach, facilitator, NLP practitioner and How To’s resident EQ-i expert. His skills have opened doors at The Home Office, British Airways, PWC, Shell, RBS and the BBC. Jonathan's coaching and training has enabled him to work across every level of business from the MD to middle management.

Jonathan loves to watch and play sport. When he can, he tries to combine the two. He regularly takes senior executives to experience what team building really means on board a 40ft yacht.

Nick Ashdon

info@howtoassociates.com
07889 847 362

Graduating from Trinity College, Cambridge, Nick studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. While RADA’s training is extensively theatrical, Nick has been enjoying a successful international film career: El Greco, in which he played the sixteenth-century painter El Greco, broke box-office records in its native Greece and is due to premier internationally at the Toronto International Film Festival 2008, with a global release to follow.

Nick recently co-produced his first feature film and finished his first novel. Nick is also an Associate of the Young Film Academy, teaching filmmaking techniques, acting, writing and – perhaps most excitingly – stage combat to hundreds of school children each year. It’s not just about throwing fake punches though. The courses provide a highly creative way to help children learn effective time-management and inter-personal skills against the clock.

Acting, writing and teaching all require confidence, imagination, empathy, presentational skills and raw determination. Producing relies on effective planning, comfort with ambiguity, leadership, teambuilding and a slightly harder nose. Since every one of these skills is just as important to corporate life, Nick looks forward to working with ‘How To’ clients to help them release their inner actor, writer, teacher or producer, while throwing the odd fake punch too.

James Walker

info@howtoassociates.com

James Walker graduated from Trinity college, Cambridge, with first class honours. His work as a published scriptwriter for film and theatre has gathered awards (Kings Cross New Writing Award, HTV Award, Best Short Film - Raindance) and led him to a commission at the National Theatre, London. His scriptwriting masterclasses at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and the Guardian Hay Festival sell out each year.

He has recently written and co-produced his first feature film, Blooded, produced by Magma Pictures and due for completion by the end of 2008.

In 2004, he co-founded Young Film Academy (YFA) with Ed Boase. YFA teaches practical filmmaking techniques to thousands of young people each year, in over 40 schools across the UK, and through a nationwide programme of workshops, courses and events. James' work has included making films for C4 with 'at risk' young people from the UK-wide charity Fairbridge. Inspiring young people to fulfill their potential through the expressive, yet technical medium of filmmaking has led James to apply those same ideas to help forge relationships and skills within a corporate environment through How To.

James believes strongly that the responsibilities and challenges of making a film can benefit individuals and teams in any working environment. There are few things in life more pleasing than participating in film making and showing the fruits of your labour to others. The bonds that are forged during this disciplined and creative process last for a long time after the final credit has rolled.

Ed Boase

info@howtoassociates.com

Ed is a graduate of the London College of Printing BA Film & Television course. His graduation film ‘One Small Leap’ gained significant recognition at film festivals worldwide, winning several awards and being screened on the BBC, Canal+ and HBO. He has recently completed shooting his first feature, Blooded, a docu-drama in the style of Touching of Void, which tackles the issue of hunting and animal activism head-on. Once completed, Blooded will be screened to all the major distributors with a view to worldwide cinema release.

In 2004, Ed co-founded Young Film Academy with James Walker. Recognising the vast number of young people interested in film and yet the limited outlets for practical film making workshops, Young Film Academy was born. The Academy runs film workshops, seminars and masterclasses for young people across the UK and for grown ups at prestigious festivals including Edinburgh and Hay. Film making offers a way for individuals to experience teamwork and express themselves in a fun yet demanding environment. It creates bonds between people with little in common and stimulates creativity. Ed was convinced that the corporate world had been missing a great opportunity to use film-making as a tool to learn about teamwork and communication. His curiosity lead him to use film in business with How To.
